aCa was founded by Camilla Choudhury - Khawaja LL.B (Hons) LL.M Barrister at Law. Camilla was called to the Bar of England and Wales in 1998 by The Honourable Society of Gray's Inn. She began lecturing Law in 1999, and continues to do so as a Visiting Lecturer at the University of Westminster, and upon the University of London International LLB Programme.
Camilla has found through her extensive experience of teaching law that tutors, perhaps even those at the top of their respective fields, must actually engage with the student and promote their interest, understanding and knowledge at every stage of their law studies. The success of Camilla's teaching is founded in her remarkable ability to teach, using a distinctive approach based on the centrality of case law, and interpretation techniques of. She has, in the ten years since beginning to lecture Law bought about much student enjoyment and enthusiasm for the subject. Her focus is on bringing a thorough understanding of the study of Law, encouraging a deep rather than surface knowledge, by developing legal skills thereby increasing the students' confidence resulting in substantially improved grades.
aCa Revision Courses have been structured in line with that of the University of London LLB. Session One therefore covers all the four intermediate examinable areas (Diploma in Law), required before the student can progress to the final examinable areas (Part One) in Session Two. Each Law is taught over a four hour period, making a total of eight hours per day, sixteen hours in total therefore over the one session.
Our classes are periods of intense study where effort must be put in by the student to achieve the best possible outcome. As an aCa student of law, by combining your will to succeed with the willingness of the tutor to help you, emerge from the aCa Law sessions with an understanding and confidence that you have mastered not only the basics but also the areas of examinable significance and henceforth are able to tackle the demanding law exams ahead.
The aCa teaching model is based on smaller group sizes, thereby enabling more interaction with the tutor, this not only accelerates student learning and understanding, giving complex issues more time and attention; but also allows for students to benefit from peer support and raise any problems encountered in their studies.
In order to achieve these outcomes, aCa have decided to focus on all the core modules of the QLD which have been synchronised as revision sessions for the benefit of the student.
The decision to offer LLB Revision Courses in Nigeria and Ghana in particular, was been made by Camilla herself, as through her many years of teaching, she has recognized the utter dedication and loyal commitment made by the Nigerian/Ghanaian law student to their studies; and since not all West African students could visit London for the UK based courses, the decision was made to bring the courses to them. Camilla therefore wishes to commit her time and effort in helping more of such students achieve their optimum in their Law exams, with a view to becoming a lawyer in their respective jurisdictions.
This is therefore a unique opportunity to be taught by a barrister and dedicated academic with a particular interest in international law students, and specialist knowledge of the University of London International Undergraduate Laws Programme.
Please note the fee payable to attend the aCa LLB Revision Courses in both Lagos and Accra includes personalized long distance academic support from aCa School of Law. Students may email answers to questions set in the sessions, obtain detailed feedback, indeed any further guidance can be requested on the foundation laws as well as optional ones, as we have lawyers with expertise in varying areas of law who will be only too willing to help.
Furthermore, Babatunde Akinyanju, Solicitor and Chair of the British Nigeria Law Forum (BNLF) will be accompanying Camilla Choudhury - Khawaja of aCa School of Law, to Lagos. The BNLF seek to assist with the training and educating of the Nigerian Law Students in both the UK and Nigeria, hence the collaboration with aCa.
