Courses are held over a weekend at Jurys Inn Hotel, Watford, within a sociable atmosphere where extensive learning and revision thrives. It is also an opportunity to meet likeminded individuals who share the same passion for law, together creating a non judgemental and flourishing atmosphere in which to utilise the skills one already has and enhance upon them. Thus creating a conducive environment within which to both network and study.

Lecture
Much of the core materials used in the lecture are provided to the student at the outset to free the lecture from the traditional dictation approach, and serve as a means to support revision.
Complete understanding of the basic syllabus, focus on particularly examinable topics, introduction of new developments, recent and forthcoming legislation, strategies for writing essay questions/answering problem questions, exam technique and skills tuition: Legal Sources and Research, Information Technology, Autonomy of Learning, Team Building Exercises and Oral Communication.
Tutorial
Here the emphasis is on small group work, enabling a student centred approach to learning, with exercises designed to encourage student activity rather than passive listening. There is ample opportunity to ask questions, discuss topics and learn from ones' peers.

The Weekend Package costs £275 however students may book an individual module independently of the Weekend Package, at a cost of £100 which is inclusive of the Comprehensive Study Pack worth £75.

Students may wish to attend for the tuition only, and not stay overnight in the Hotel, for which the lesser fee of £250 will be payable. Students who wish to attend the two corresponding weekends, as a means of obtaining a more extensive revision experience, will attract a 10% discount overall.
Study packs will be provided to students upon registration.
Each study pack has been prepared by our tutors who are teachers of the particular subject, and are therefore familiar not only with the syllabus, but also with examinable areas.
These guides are designed to complement the students' study of any particular subject in an active format, by leading them through the syllabus, identifying the more significant areas of law, with advice on answering exam questions be they problem based, or essay questions. The packs also contain methods of self assessment, questions and activities with feedback provided in the form of model answers and examiners guidance. During the tutorial sessions these materials will be explored in depth and students will be guided by their tutors to specific cases and passages to be memorised verbatim, and utilised during exams.
At aCa we encourage the student to read beyond the recommended reading, using further secondary sources such as Journal articles, online databases and research conducted within the Institute of Advanced Legal Studies - such information is included within the study pack.
