About aCa School of Law

aCa was founded by Camilla Choudhury - Khawaja LL.B LL.M Barrister at Law. Camilla was called to the Bar of England and Wales in 1998 by The Honourable Society of Gray's Inn. She began lecturing Law in 1999, and continues to do so as a Visiting Lecturer at the University of Westminster, and upon the University of London External LLB Programme.

Camilla has found through her extensive experience of teaching law that tutors, perhaps even those at the top of their respective fields, must actually engage with the student and promote their interest, understanding and knowledge at every stage of their law studies. The success of Camilla's teaching is founded in her remarkable ability to teach, using a distinctive approach based on the centrality of case law, and interpretation techniques of. She has, in the ten years since beginning to lecture Law bought about much student enjoyment and enthusiasm for the subject. Her focus is on bringing a thorough understanding of the study of Law, encouraging a deep rather than surface knowledge, by developing legal skills thereby increasing the students' confidence resulting in substantially improved grades.

All aCa's Visiting Lecturers are also qualified Lawyers, some of whom are currently in practice; thus providing a crucial link between theory and practice. The ethos behind aCa therefore is with the tutors' assistance, all of whom are not just talented at communicating legal issues but also have a deep practical knowledge which they draw upon; you, as an aCa student of law, by combining your will to succeed with the willingness of the tutor to help you, emerge from the aCa Law weekends with an understanding and confidence that you have mastered not only the basics but also the areas of examinable significance and henceforth are able to tackle the demanding law exams ahead.

Our goal at aCa is a personalised learning method where we aim to develop both the competence and confidence of each and every student by actively and continually engaging them throughout the weekend. This is the fundamental reason behind the decision to limit each weekend to a maximum of 25 students. Our teaching model is based on smaller group sizes, thereby enabling more interaction with the tutor, this not only accelerates student learning and understanding, giving complex issues more time and attention; but also allows for students to benefit from peer support and raise any problems encountered in their studies.

In order to achieve these outcomes, aCa have decided to focus on all the core modules of the QLD which have been synchronised as a weekend package for the benefit of the student. They are given repeated opportunities to practise their legal skills, initially with small exercises in the first instance, and thus increasing the complexity of the exercises to match the task they will be required to do for their assessment purposes.

"A man has but one youth, and considering the consequences of employing that well, he has reason to think himself very rich, for that gone, all the wealth in the world will not purchase another."
